Philip Porter - Partner
Managing Partner, Head of Family & Matrimonial Law
Philip qualified as a Solicitor in 1995. Initially he worked in the firm he was articled to in Liverpool city centre specialising in Matrimonial and Crime. Thereafter he worked in Southport, Merseyside for 4 years, eventually joining Fiona Bruce Solicitors in June 2003. Philip became a Partner in 2008 and Managing Partner in 2014.
Philip is married with two children – both he and his wife are Christians and are very involved in their local church. His passion for family is one of the reasons why Philip remains so committed to this area of law.
- For the first 4 years post qualification, Philip specialised in matrimonial, child care and criminal law.
- Since 1999 he has concentrated solely in Matrimonial and Family. He is a member of the Solicitors Family Law Association, Family Law Panel and Resolution. He has a wealth of experience dealing with all areas of family law, including all children issues, injunctions and overseas custody. In particular Philip has developed a specialism in Finance within divorce and separation and increasingly finds himself instructed on pre and post nuptial matters.
- Philip is Managing Partner at Fiona Bruce Solicitors. We have the benefit of a number of Quality Kite Marks including Lexcel, Conveyancing Quality Standard, Legal Aid and Investors in People and Philip works hard to ensure these standards are maintained by the provision of excellence in all that we do.
- The firm is rooted in the local community but serves the North West and further afield and Philip continues to look for opportunities to help the firm grow.
