This morning (23rd September), Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng outlined a series of measures intended to boost the country’s economic growth. The result of these measures for house-buyers include:

  • An increase in the threshold people start paying stamp duty on home purchases to £250,000 in England

  • For first-time buyers, the stamp duty threshold will rise to £425,000
