Probate Fees to Increase from January 2022

When applying for a Grant of Probate almost all estates will be required to pay a fee to the Probate Registry upon submission of their application.  At present, this fee differs depending on whether the application is made by an individual or by a solicitor. 

From the 26th January, the fees to apply to the Probate Registry will be increasing. Instead of having the two different fees, the new system will introduce a single fee to be paid regardless of whether the application is made by a solicitor or an individual. 

The fee from 26th January 2022 will be £273.00.
