National Carers Week 2018

June 11th to 17th recognises the contribution made by carers and the difficulties they may face.  It has been calculated that there are 6.5 million carers in the UK, and according to the Carers Club website 6,000 people become carers every day. A carer is defined as someone providing unpaid care and support looking after a parent, child or friend who has a disability, illness, mental health problem or who needs extra help as they grow older.

This year Carers Week is emphasising the need for carers to stay healthy themselves and to remain connected to their own friends, family and the wider community.

Fiona Bruce Solicitors are supportive of this initiative; many of our clients are carers themselves, and many others are in receipt of such care. We try our best to provide a sympathetic and supportive environment as well as relevant and cost effective advice and solutions, and we can make home visits when necessary.

Our Wills Trust and Probate team can advise and assist concerning Powers of Attorney, Deputyships and Wills.
