The President of the Family Division, Sir Andrew McFarlane, has announced that the Family Division’s Transparency Review will be published in Summer 2021. An evidence session took place on 2 February 2021, made up of a panel which included Director of the Child Care Law Reporting Project for the Republic of Ireland, Dr Carol Coulter, Director of the Nuffield Family Justice Observatory, Lisa Harker, Co-founder of the Open Justice Court of Protection Project, Professor Celia Kitzinger, and retired Judge HH Clifford-Bellamy who gave a presentation, focusing on the detrimental effect of the repeated use of the description of the Family Court as a secret court and attempts to “open up the Family Court”.
